Chafin Seymour is a native of Brooklyn, NY whose experience in dance has been investigative and eclectic. He began his training in earnest during his high school years with Dancewave and at the Packer Collegiate Institute. He received his BFA with Distinction in Dance from The Ohio State University in 2012. During his time there he was privileged to work with such artists as Susan Hadley, Vera Blaine, and Bebe Miller. Following this he returned to his home borough and had the pleasure of performing with Dante Brown|Warehouse Dance, Ni’Ja Whitson/The NWA Project & Anneke Hansen Dance. Chafin recently completed an MFA in Choreography from the University of Iowa where was granted an Iowa Arts Fellowship and taught as a Graduate Assistant within the Department of Dance. He is once again in NYC and is continuing to make work with the collective as well as teach on the Contemporary Forms faculty at Gibney.
